ART@CHESTERTOWN – POP-UP GALLERY
American Craft Council Redux & Pop-up Gallery
April 29-May 6, 2015
The arts are alive in Chestertown.
Art@Chestertown is a collaboration of eight nationally recognized artists and galleries located in historic Chestertown on the Maryland Eastern Shore. In February 2015, our artists created a collaborative exhibit for the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore and were highlighted in the February issue of American Craft magazine.
April 29 – May 6, join us as we transform the second floor of a 1908 fire station into a “Pop-Up” gallery and enjoy the re-creation of our exhibit at the American Craft Council Show. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how the works of different artists interact with each other in an intimate residential setting.
As artists who live and work on the Eastern Shore, the beauty of the land and the close relationship with our community influences us. Rather than competing we compliment each other and elevate our individual work to a higher level.
We have long realized that “arts and entertainment” are an important component of the resurgent downtown Chestertown economy. The “Pop-Up” gallery showcases the high caliber of professional artists in our area that is putting us on the map as an arts destination.
Connect with our art at its source. Visit our galleries, studios, and workspaces. Explore your own creativity through the many art and music education programs available. Learn about our culture and our effort to designate Chestertown as an Arts and Entertainment district. See the many ways our history and the natural beauty of our community influence and inspire the work created here.
