Summer Gallery Artists Exhibition

Dust and Light:
Two inherently antagonistic phenomena folded into each other.
Both primordial sources: matter (dust) and transcendence (light); one fixed and present (describable), one inexplicable and evanescent (descriptive). Separately, they exist within dramatically different timescales. Yoked together they help establish the following thematic pursuits:
Where lies the balance between perceived intent and the expressive force of medium and support?
This has represented the core of my practice since its inception and my process has leaned heavily on developing an organic relationship between intent and chosen materials to:
- allow for the unexpected to perform a structural role in the work.
- suppress personal certitude in the activity
- advocate for the decentered subject
