As a painter I work outside the logical confines of language. I try to describe intangible realities for which there are no words. These are the inner, experiential regions shaped by our environment……. ……the effect of landscape, the poetics of space, the texture of memory, the weight of experience.
Searching for an understanding of what shapes the human need for shelter, sanctuary and refuge, I imagine that the interior realms of thought and observation are organized like the forms and patterns of the physical world.
My goal is to make each painting signify a region where a sense of place and state of mind come together. .
