This series of paintings explores more deeply the idea of transition from concepts based on the natural world into a world of more abstract thought. The larger scale of most of these pieces makes it easier to step into an alternate reality of color and design. More arbitrary color is employed, and I allowed myself to follow lines wherever they wanted to take me.

Champagne Reception – Friday, November 8, 5-7 pm
Artist Talk – Saturday, November 9, 12 noon

For thirty years, Marcy Dunn Ramsey has blessed us with her small gouache studies.  I fondly refer to them as the “gumdrops” – perfect little studies that demand more than one in your collection.   This year we will have over twenty small blessings in her November exhibition.  These will be in addition to eight mid-size oil on canvas paintings.

Also featured in the High Street rear gallery,

Laurie Peek – In Lieu of Flowers

and Grace Mitchell, Jacqui Crocetta, Joe Karlik, Michael Kahn, Janis Goodman, B Proud, Celia Pearson, Cristine Yurick, Rosemary Cooley, Claire McArdle, Blake Conroy and Vicco von Voss.
