The exchange between terrain, climate, temperature and the elements is constant: sometimes consistent and often times transforming by the moment. My work is an exploration of the fleeting effects of the atmospheric conditions on the land and on water. Imagery is developed with the application of an initial layer of opaque ink/paint followed by numerous layers of transparent pigment. Subject matter is not predetermined, it is intuitive and emerges as the work develops. Multiple layers evoke the reflection and haze, while the white of the paper/panel offer glimpses of light. Inclusion of grain pattern from salvaged wood boards reference both the static and fluid.
